Parents can look for fun math games or even worksheets that are designed to challenge and teach the student without intimidating them. Sometimes youngsters enjoy challenging friends or siblings close to their own age to competitive games if they feel that they can show off something new that they have learned. Children are naturally inquisitive and many are blessed with the ability to learn very quickly. Look for ways to take advantage of their natural curiosity and love of games and you might find that the process of learning and practicing multiplication facts does not have to be a painful one.

If a student is doing a worksheet of 40 problems all about the order of operations, and the student has a rule confused, then every problem will be missed. But the bigger concern is that the mistake just got practiced 40 times. It just became ingrained in that student has mind to forever cause trouble unless it can be corrected. I have had many high school Algebra students enter class thinking they know the correct order of operations, but we quickly learn that something is wrong.
