As a teacher, I supplement my lessons with appropriate worksheets. I can then check a student has progress. I can also monitor how much work they actually are doing. For parents, printable math worksheets are a great tool for drilling their own kids in those same skills. Make no mistake, printable math worksheets are not a relic from the past that needs to stay buried. They are useful, focused tools for the classroom or at home. You can find resources all over the web for worksheets. Finding answers for worksheets, however, is not that easy. For that you often have to use paid subscription services.
Cloze worksheets are also known as "Fill in the Blank" worksheets. Words are deleted from a prose sentence or passage and the reader is required to fill in the blanks. Cloze tests or exercises require the ability to understand context and vocabulary in order to select correct words for completion. Given the right design, these worksheets can be used at all levels of literacy. A search on the term "cloze generator" will find software programs which create cloze worksheets by randomly deleting words from a passage you enter. If, on the other hand, you would like to design the worksheet yourself, here are some tips for doing so.
In another article, I will be explaining how to fix practiced mistakes; but I assure you that it is not quick and it is not easy. And it certainly does not involve another worksheet! A much better option is for the mistake to never get practiced. Skill and drill worksheets can only avoid this trouble if someone is standing over the student with rapt attention on every answer to be written. As soon as a mistake is made, the reason for the mistake must be identified, and the correct method needs to be practiced right then and there several times. And then again in about 10 minutes, and then checked again before class is over.

Since worksheets are easy to correct, students will be able to identify the items and areas that they had mistakes so that they will be able to correct those deficiencies. Keeping record is really a good thing; As a parent, you will be able to go back through them and assess their strong and weak areas. Keeping track you will be able to track your child has progress as empirical evidence.
So with skip counting, you get the perfecta of seeing, feeling and hearing.You experience the numbers in three ways. And it can be fun. If you teach your child to count, say, playing cards by twos, not only will s/he count the cards faster, but s/he will lock in the two-times tables in his/her head without having to stare at boring worksheets, watch or do any of those typical dumbing-down activities like watch cartoons teach them math, sing inane songs, or listen to baby-rhymes.One of the advantages of using normal playing cards (not flash-cards or cards from some contrived kiddie-math games) is that playing cards can remain life-long friends. They are objects that exist in the adult world, so your child will not have that feeling in the back of his/her mind that they are being pandered to. Children can sense when their minds are being respected. When you teach them with methods that respect and foster their thinking abilities, instead of talking down to them, you are doing them one of the biggest favors you can do. You are also doing one for yourself, too.
